Listening

I really liked this Mormon message about listening to others. So often we are very eager to say what we believe while trampling over others' beliefs. So, no matter the outcome of the election tomorrow, listen to those with whom you disagree!

(My) Definitions

Molly Mormon: An average, normal member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mormons are compassionate, loving, honest, faithful, good people. LDS people believe in political participation to make our communities a better place.

Democrat: A member of the U.S. Democratic Party, who believes that government can and should be a part of the toolbox used to educate our citizens, feed the hungry, and take stewardship over our natural resources. Democrats believe in civil rights and equality for all people, which includes standing up for the rights of women and minorities.

Why be Molly Mormon and Democratic (in my opinion)?

Because not every Mormon voted for Mitt!

Because "Mormon" and "Democrat" should go together like Peanut Butter & Jelly!

Because all Mormon women are feminists, even if they don't know it yet!

Because Mormons and Democrats both are all about equality!

Because both Mormons and Democrats care about the poor and needy!

Because Mormons believe "...that governments were instituted of God for the benefit of man..." (Doctrine & Covenants 134:1). We don't think government is evil - it can be a tool for good!

Because Mormons are diverse, and believe in thinking for themselves!
